On the Xmas wishlist:

‘Paper art, il regalo inizia dal pacchetto!’ (Paper art, the gift starts from the wrapping! - Creative workshop for adults)
Christmas is coming and even the simplest gift gives us the prefect chance to express our creative talent and the wonderful joy of present giving! It all starts from the loving care put into the way we wrap the gifts. So…. by interpreting the Japanese art of paper wrapping with a touch of the Christmas spirit we’ll create unique packaging to personalise our Christmas pressies!

‘Il presepe nelle stampe dei Musei Civici’ (The Nativity in the Civic Museums prints): exquisite Christmas-themed prints from the Civic Museum’s engravings collection on display.

‘Tutti i colori della neve’ (All the colours of the snow - Creative workshop for children aged 6 to 10)
Whoever said that snow is white?! As all the greatest artists know only too well it’s got more than a thousand nuances and the museum boasts wonderful artwork, a mountain landscape by Guido Cinotti, in which the snowy backdrop becomes a real kaleidoscope of colours under a beautiful blue sky. So, let’s take a cue from this artist and create our own versions of his snowy scene…just like real painters, with tempera and brushes.
- Friday, December 28th - 15:00 - THE MUSEUM INVITES YOU
‘12 mesi al museo’ - (12 months at the museum - creative workshop for children aged 6 to 10)
The New Year is nearly upon us so let’s get together and make an ‘artistic’ calendar! We’ll observe the museum artworks and chose the images that we think best represent the months of the year. Then, after deciding which 12 to use, we’ll creatively customise the paintings and make them into an original hanging calendar.
- Tuesday January 1st
Special opening hours at the museum from 15.00 to 18.00.
- Tuesday, January 1st - 16:00 - THE MUSEUM INVITES YOU
‘Buon Anno al museo!’ (Happy New Year at the museum! - Guided tour)
Guided tour of the exhibition for a cultural start to 2019!
- January 2nd, 3rd and 4th - CHRISTMAS CAMPUS
‘Atelier in festa’ (Festive Atelier )
The Civic Museums offer a new type of ‘day campus’ where you and your friends can spend some of Xmas holidays in the museum spaces - having fun with games, activities and workshops - in the capable hands of our educational staff.
You can try your hand at modern and contemporary painting, starting from the artworks that we’ll admire together, and discover great artists such as the Futurists, Picasso, Pollock, Kandinsky, Christo and Haring. Works of ... colours, works of ... lands, works of ... words, works ... of art! Each day we’ll collectively chose a different artwork that will guide us to the discovery of the world of abstract art, land art, conceptual art and, not forgetting of course, traditional paintings with brushes and paints!
- Sunday January 6th - 15.30 - GIOCAMUSEO - THE MUSEUM INVITES YOU
‘La Befana nel museo’ (The Befana comes to the museum - Family Tour with children aged 5 and upwards)
There’s a weird old lady at the museum called the Befana who wants to give you some sweets but, first of all, you have to find out where she’s hiding! So…. you have to look at lots of pictures and then, most importantly, solve the fun puzzles that your guide gives you. Don’t forget something really important... bring a stocking!!
