Binario 7

The building renamed Binario 7 (Platform 7) due to its proximity to the railway station of Monza, was actually designed to be the base for the  youth groups Balilla and Gioventù Italiana del Littorio (GIL) in the fascist era. The project by the architect Aldo Putelli was carried out between 1933 and 1934, achieving the construction of a modern building that includes glass elements and recreational areas such as a theatre, a gymnasium and a small pool which is no longer present.
After being used over the years for different purposes, it was first a cinema then a school, and after being neglected for a period of time, the building was restored and inaugurated in 2005 as Urban Center, offering the town a theatre, exhibition areas and conference rooms.
