Finally Summer!

In Monza there are a lot of things to do sheltered from the summer heat and many events scheduled for all tastes and ages!

To help you in your choice here is a list of MUST SEE and MUST DO for your summer holiday in MONZA!

 

The Park of Monza

Its trails are immersed in the woods thus are perfect for walks shletered from the summer heat. You could also follow the course of the River Lambro, along which you can meet old mills and nineteenth-century farms.

Whether you are lovers of art, nature or want to find out the myths and legends with witches, gnomes and knights in monza's Park there are itinereries for all tastes!

Also, until November 5th, in a field near Villa Mirabello, you can encounter... dinosaurs!

For sports lovers there are many possibilities: from riding lessons, nordic walking trails, running routes and orienteering trails, Monza's Park offers tons of sports activities! We also recommend you consult the calendar of the "Sport in the Park" project: an opportunity to practice different disciplines, with qualified tutors, free and free access!

And again in Monza's Park, to look for some relief on the hottest days, you can take refuge in the waters of the Pool in the park, open from June till the end of August, from 10.00 to 19.00.

Boscherona Park

An alternative to the Park of Monza is the Parco della Boscherona: a vast green area dedicated to recreational and sporting activities, with a golf course, football and volleyball courts and a playground for children and equipped with pic areas nic. There is also a vegetable garden, a fitness area, a kiosk and, of course, the fishing pond!
 

 

Summer exhibition

In the Civic Museums until September 3rd you can visit the exhibition dedicated to the 19th century painter Mosè Bianchi, one of the most important italian painters of the time.

But the cultural offer in town is particularly rich. Here is a brief list Must see in Monza this summer:

The exhibition "From Monet to Bacon, The Artworks of the Johannesburg Art Gallery" is set up at the Monza Palace until the 31st July. A unique opportunity to admire the masterpieces of great international artists, from Claude Monet to Edgar Degas, Dante Gabriel Rossetti to John Everet Millais, Pablo Picasso to Francis Bacon, Roy Lichtenstein to Andy Warhol. .

At the Belvedere della Villa Reale do not miss the Design Museum, with a selection of over 200 iconic pieces from the permanent collection of the Triennale of Milan, testimony of the innovations, experiments and heterogeneity of the history of Italian design.

In the historical center, next to the beautiful medieval Duomo of Monza, there is the Museum and Treasure of the Duomo of Monza, a unique collection in the world that still holds the invaluable Treasure of the Longobard Queen Theodolinda.

 

And in the evening?

At 6pm, don't go home ... its time for a cocktail! Its the happy hour time in the bars, pubs and wine shops of via Bergamo and in the streets of the city center.

There are also many festivals dedicated to gastronomy, with entertainment and live music:

From June 15 to July 9, in Stucchi Street, the Original Bier Fest, the Beer Festival, with Bavarian entertainment and cuisine, returns.

From 22 June to 9 July, street food, entertainment and entertainment will animate the Royal Boschettti from 10.30 am to midnight.

Whilst after dinner, movie lovers can enjoy a movie under the stars! From June 12 to mid September you can see (or revisit) a selection of films in an interior courtyard of the Royal Villa. The exhibition, promoted by Anteo SpaceCinema and the Culture Advisory, includes award-winning and previews.

Or you can opt for one of the many musical events of the summer of Monza because, as Nietzsche argued, "Without music, life would be a mistake!" In addition to the International Idays Festival, from June 15th to June 18th, the "Music in the Cloisters 2017" exhibition will be back in late June, with performances of choral and instrumental music inside beautiful monastery cloisters.

Last but not least, for families and children (but not only), every Saturday from July 22nd to August 26th, the international show “Non solo Clown” is back, for evenings of pure entertainment and fun!
